Ghosts of Christmas Past

We're in the holiday spirit but have no recent holiday photos to post so I'm going with a few from years gone by. Hoping for a Santa photo soon...but you see how well that worked out with Owen.

The Elephant Man

We'll start off with what you really want to see - pictures of Max. Lately, he's been fascinated by his elephant towel. He plays with the trunk and the ears. It's pretty darn cute.

My, how time flies. It's been so hard to keep up lately and I've not done very well in posting updates. Such is life. Rather than try to cram in a huge essay I will just leave a succint update below and attach some photos.

* Max is walking again. He took some tentative steps a couple of weeks ago, then twisted his ankle and stopped walking altogether and then started trying again last week. Here he is below while on strike from walking.

He is a fairly cautious walker and seems quite proud of himself as he gets from place to place.

Thus far he does the Frankenstein and we think it is HILARIOUS!

* Havers has gained some weight back and is crazy as ever with twice the energy it seems. She ate part of a dirty diaper yesterday and shredded the remains which she then spread around the dining room. Note to future visitors: This is one of the reasons we recommend against letting her lick your face.

* Chubber has taken to sleeping in the baby papasan. Pretty cute.

* Work is good for both of us and kind of busy.

* We are really looking forward to our trip to Alaska. Mmm, grilled salmon salad at Orso and pizza at Moose's Tooth. Did I forget Kodiak Nut Brown Ale at Midnight Sun Brewery?

* I'm now addicted to Facebook.

* Max is addicted to balloons. He absolutely loves his balloon and will even carry it from room to room. Very sweet.

One day soon he'll be sitting round the campfire telling scary stories that make no sense. They grow up so fast!

Happy Thanksgiving

Of course, the main picture features eating! Max actually did a pretty good job eating his solids on turkey day. He still doesn't like to eat food all that much but he's getting more adventurous in trying different things and really enjoys eating off my plate.

Sweet Thanksgiving Boy. We are thankful for our family and our crazy dog and noisy cat. Mostly, we are blessed to have this tiny person with BIG personality in our lives. We love you Max.

This is probably Max's craziest hair yet. It's in honor of the mayhem of Black Friday.

One of the best ways to get Max to eat is to let him feed you. Here he is feeding me both baby food and teeny tiny pieces of turkey and spit soaked veggie fries. Yum yum!

We took a walk later than night and night walking is not really Max's thing. He prefers the daylight.

Mmm. Left overs. So who cares if it's dog food? (And no it's not the raw food. It's the soundly rejected kibble.)

Pucker up! Here is Max practicing his pucker. It's so cute and he does it all the time - just not when he kisses you. The kiss is still a big wide open mouth with the tongue coming at you in a WIDE angle.

On an unrelated note - check this out! Yes, that truly is my total price to fill the volvo with super gas about 2 weeks ago. I had to use all my "fuel perks" to do it but you collect a bunch of those suckers when you buy formula and diapers every week! It doesn't hurt that gas prices have literally been cut in half in the last 6 weeks. Does anyone else think conspiracy and market manipulation now?

With love to all of you...The ZanderBarry's.
